Directory list

Startup directories to submit your startup to

A startup directory lists young companies and their products, each with its own page. Submitting to the right ones is one of the cheapest early steps a founder can take: a listing page, a link back to your site and a place where people looking for new tools may come across you. Below are 23 startup directories with the facts you need to pick between them.

How this list is ordered

Featured directories come first and carry a Featured label. Featured is a placement a directory's owner can buy once, for $19; it keeps the directory at the top of the list, in the order Featured was added. Every other directory is ordered by its Domain Rating by Ahrefs, highest first. Adding a listing costs $5 and does not move a directory up; votes and opinions play no part. Where we have no reading for a number, the table shows a dash rather than a guess.

Questions

Where should I submit my startup first?

Start with directories that list products like yours and that give the link type you want. A directory with a higher Domain Rating passes a stronger link, but a smaller directory focused on your field can bring more relevant people. Sort this list by Domain Rating and filter by free to submit to build a first shortlist.

Are startup directories worth it?

They are a low-cost way to get your first listings and links, and some of them bring real visits on launch day. They are one step of a launch, not the whole plan.

Do startup directories give dofollow links?

Some do and some do not, and some only on paid plans. Each directory here shows its link type as dofollow, nofollow or 'dofollow on some plans'; the Dofollow filter shows the dofollow ones and the ones that are dofollow on some plans.

What should I prepare before submitting my startup?

A one-line tagline, a short and a long description, a logo, a few screenshots, your pricing and a founder contact. Writing these once and reusing them saves time across directories, but adapt the wording a little for each one.
